We’ve seen earlier reports from other companies that predict Windows Phone to overtake both RIM and iOS as the second most dominant platorm by roughly 2015-2016. Considering Windows Phone’s current state, this all seems unlikely, but when you consider the recent Nokia partnership brings an enthusiastic, loyal user base, the IDC may not be too far off.
Based on the chart released by IDC, WIndows Phone/Mobile is predicted to earn just over 20% of the total mobile market share, second only to the Android OS, which is also said to grow in that period. Both RIM and iOS show a little growth, but are predicted to level out.
