Windows Phone Blog Confirms “Special” NoDo Update for At&t

Many of us wondered why it was taking At&t so long to test and push NoDo out to its users. We may have found out one of the reasons why in a recent posting to the official WIndows Phone blog.

Eric Hautala of Windows Phone Blog fame update the said blog with a post confirming rumors and posts about an upcoming push of NoDo for At&t Focus and Quantum users. His post basically says that the update is coming soon and then he amends the post with this interesting little piece of information:

P.S. I forgot to mention the update we’ll be shipping to AT&T customers also includes support for two special AT&T features. The first is “WISPr” protocol support, which makes it possible for your phone’s data connection to automatically switch over to AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots when in range. The update also includes support for AT&T Address Book.

I certainly hope that NoDo wasn’t delayed on At&t because of some hotspot and address book features, but it helps that those users who have had no choice but to be extra patient will get a little something extra come mid-April.
