Windows Phone is the newcomer in a fast-paced mobile market that has both iOS devices and the increasingly popular Android phones. No one ever said it was going to be easy to catch up or even overtake either two competitors, but Windows Phone is too good of a platform to remain a small contender forever. Chitka agrees and has seen Windows Phones web market share grow slowly but surely.
Since February, Windows Phone 7′s share of mobile web browsing has gone from 0.44% to 0.5% – still small, but evidence of growth that should make Microsoft a bit happier.
This means that WP7 is now on par with WebOS and Chitka notes that Windows Phone is set to debut on Verizon very soon and this should only help Windows Phone grab even more of that market. Recent leaks have suggested the Verizon launch is slated for sometime in May.
