I’m a big fan of well-done tower defense games for the PC, so when I hear of game like this that I can play on my Windows Phone, I usually jump at the chance to give it a spin. Pirates Assault by Dagari Studios is a tower defense game for Windows Phone where you, a retired pirate, must defend your treasure from other pirates looking to loot and pillage.
Pirates Assault is a great-looking game for Windows Phone with excellent graphics and effects that really make this title stand out. The controls are intuitive and the gameplay is very well done. You have land and sea weapons at your disposal and you can leverage the storm attack by using your Windows Phone’s accelerometer.
I have no doubt that Pirates Assault will be one of those games that quickly makes waves in the Marketplace. There is both a free (ad-supported) and paid ($1.99) version of Pirates Assault, so price should not be an issue, but I have a feeling that once you play the ad-supported version, you’ll want to shell out the two bucks for the version with no adverts.
This is the first game from Dagari Studios, so I hope to see many more titles like this for Windows Phone. You can find this game by searching for “Pirates Assault” on the Zune PC software or on your Windows Phone.
