This is small news, but news nonetheless. I first noticed a new logo when watching the Mango VIP event a month back and now it seems that WMPoweruser has noticed that Stephen Elop, Nokia’s CEO, is using a new Windows Phone logo while delivering the keynote at CommunicAsia 2011 which can be seen on esphone blog.

Update: A user has brought another instance of the new logo’s appearance to my attention. As noted in the comments, you can see this new logo being used on an official Microsoft Windows Phone advertisement if you watch the YouTube video entitled “The Next Release of Windows Phone, codenamed Mango” (pictured below). Thanks for the heads up Nanopix.
The supposedly new logo makes sense because it plays off of the square metro-esque tiles that are found on Windows Phone. No official word from Microsoft on the possible logo update, but I would imagine we’d hear something as we draw nearer to mango’s release.
