There are not many 3D first person shooters in the Windows Phone marketplace at this point, but I can assure you that they are welcome. Today, the Xbox LIVE Indie games console title Lil’ Demons: Splatter hits Windows Phone.
Lil’ Demons: Splatter is a first person shooter that puts you, armed with your gun, against little demons. Your job is to stay alive and kill as many demons as possible and use their splatter goo to charge up your own energy. There are three different modes of play: Wave of Survival, King of the Hill and Knockoff.
My early impressions are that the game has some real potential. It is Portal-esque in its visuals and really draws you in as you try to stay alive as long as possible. My only concern is the controls. Being a mobile game, moving around in a 3D environment and shooting becomes a challenge, but as I played, the controls became more comfortable and need only a little tweaking to really make this title a must-have.
Lil’ Demons: Splatter is currently free in the Marketplace so there is no reason not to give it a try and see if you can survive the hoard of demons coming after you. I’m confident that the few small issues that are currently in the game will be updated and this title will see success on Windows Phone.
You can check out this title by searching for “Lil’ Demons: Splatter” in the Zune PC software or on your Windows Phone. The video embedded below is of the XBL Indie game for the console, but it will give you a good idea of what’s in store on Windows Phone.
