Windows Phone IE9 Topples Competitors in HTML5 Fish Test, Yet Again

In case you were wondering how we’ve made it 12 days into July without a mobile browser speed test comparison, wonder no more. At WPC, Microsoft showed off their most recent work in IE9’s HTML5 speed increase against a BlackBerry Torch, Droid Charge and iPhone 4 (with the most recent beta flashed on it). Surprise, surprise…Windows Phone wins again. You may remember iOS5 taking the crown for a short time only to find out hat they were comparing Apple’s to early Mango’s and didn’t have the latest Mango build on the Windows Phone device, so it was essentially a faux crown. IE9 on Windows Phone Mango is now running the fish test at a screaming 50 FPS in the video below and makes for just one more reason for Fall 2011 to come quickly.
